Coach Academy

The Coach Academy is for the all-in, play to win coach. This intense, six-week program is your operating system. You are going to take your coaching from ok Town to Impactville – where it’s life-giving and thriving.

You won’t just work with clients …you’ll transform them. You’ll do so because you will have the confidence, the street creds, and an ever-expanding toolbox to meet their needs through dynamic exercises, deep knowledge and wrap-around support. If you’re all in, that’s what we’ll do and that’s what you’ll do too.

We surveyed coaches from across the country, and the number one reason they say they aren’t transformative is because of the inadequacy of their toolkit; the one-size-fits-all hand-me-down approach they all learned at business school.

In short- they don’t have a relevant, rich, diverse, flexible coaching methodology. Well, we do. Once you go through this training, you will have one too.

We’re hired for the outer edges, but we start in the middle; with the core, the founder. 

The Methodology

We work from the place where change happens.

Our itchy brains want to know: where are you? where do you want to be? what’s in the way?

Our entire training is based on the Venture OS Model: The Essence, The Existence, The Entity, The Orchestra.  When you are finished with the 6-week training – you will be able to immerse  founders, clients and teams in the Venture Operating System.

The Venture Operating System

Managing the known and venturing into the unknown require different choices, different tools, different ways of working. The Venture OS is a concatenation of the tools, techniques and tactics for those venturing into the unknown.

Starting with The Essence

It starts deep in the soil with the venturer, the founder, the guardian of the garden, the architect of the vision. The Essence Dimension is about the founder. Not the product nor the business. The essence is solution agnostic. This is the introspection, the preparation before venturing into parenthood. It’s the parenting pre-check. The put-the-oxygen-mask-on-yourself stage.

It’s about the ability to carry an entity to full term. The crucial determination of internal desirability, viability, feasibility, adaptability.

The question: Am I Good Soil? And if not, what do I need to do to become good soil.

It means the difference between victory and victimry. Everything else flows from here…

The Existence

This is where it begins to get real-real. translating idea into reality. Seed into seedling. The number one goal here is existence. Not growth, not scale but pure existence. Existence is the problem-solution FIT dimension.

For the idea to exist in reality, it must first be grounded in the reality of the problem it seeks to solve for. 

The empirical seeking of hidden value is locked somewhere in the customers. But it’s not in asking customers what they want, as conventional methods emphasize. Instead it’s in understanding the job-to-be-done. The Customer is the wrong unit of analysis. The job is.  The customer is the wrong unit of analysis, the job is the unit of analysis.

 This shift in perspective from customer analysis to job analysis changes everything: approach, tactics, tools, techniques: Everything. In the Venture OS, we call it Job Centered Design.

The Entity

The Founder has engineering an idea into a solution. The solution gives them the right to play, but not the right to win. Now it’s time to engineer a great organization to wrap around that great solution.

The Entity Dimension is the stage where we wrap the baby venture in a suit of systems, structures, and processes.

As magnificent as it is, a Rolls Royce engine needs to be wrapped in opulent bodywork to bring it to pulsating life…you don’t ride the engine, you drive the car. These systems are what create that dynamic organism, that breathes and moves in the real world. 

In the Entity, we deconstruct and reconstruct the systems critical for thrivability through the Value Generation Canvas.

The Orchestra

Being a venturer, a business owner is not about playing a singular instrument. It’s about conducting an orchestra. An orchestra of trends, forces, constraints, dreams, and more. We zoom out into the larger dynamics of the system while staying grounded in the needs of the now. The strategic choreography of adapting and thriving.

We learn how to systematically scan the environment. Then we understand the framework for understanding the future, rehearsing the future. We learn worldbuilding, scenario planning and how to think in systems.

This isn’t your standard market analysis; it’s a symphony of anticipation, a planning of the possible.

This isn’t about adapting to the environment; it’s about architecting destiny.

For many, imminent failure has been masked by efficiency of tasks; No matter how much they  hustle to clear thick undergrowth with a well-designed butter knife- failure is imminent.

No matter how much they do things right, if you’re not doing the right thing. Success eludes them.
